New Year. No Shopping.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Yes, we know, we're a bit behind the power curve for 2014 already.  However, with traveling, the holidays and that darn polar vortex freezing our typing fingers, we've been distracted, sue us! -- Or not. We really don't have a clue on how to defend a lawsuit for lack of posting.

Now that that's out of the way!!! We wanted to share with our readers on our joint resolution for the New Year.
NO SHOPPING.

Have we lost our minds?  Maybe.  Are we planning on locking ourselves inside to avoid the stores?  Perhaps.   Will we cut up all our cards to prohibit us for purchasing anything?  Its been discussed.

For at least 60 days, you will not find B&M shopping (for themselves), and here's why:

  1. Christmas was a little too good to us and we over-indulged on holiday shopping like it was a bunch of sugarplums!
  2. Tags.  We have clothes in our closet with tags hanging on them.  When did we buy them?  How long have they been there?  Nobody knows...
  3. This is an exercise to re-love what we have purchased and weed out items that we have, yet don't really work for us now.
More importantly, this is a challenge for us as stylists.  Every time we meet with a new client we celebrate the items they already have in their closet and create fresh, new outfits.  We suggest that many of our clients purchase only a few pieces to add wearability to an already great wardrobe.  If we advise this to our clients, we surely can do it ourselves!

The problem is, we consider shopping market research.  A large part of our job is knowing what is in stores so we can advise on trends, help our clients understand what is a good purchase price and find great pieces for upcoming shoots.

Nevertheless, we shall overcome all temptations!

Would you like to join us on our #NoShopping60 challenge??  Send us a message on what motivated you to press pause on your shopping!

Wish us Luck!!!

Xo,
B&M
